Sick Bay

I was sick since January 9.  High fever (no kidding 103 degree) following by sore throat and then stuffy nose and fevers that came back once in a while.  The doctor said it’s a common flu.  Common my ass!  If I got this sick from a common flu, an uncommon flu would kill me for sure.  My room has been my Sick Bay for the pass 7 days.  I bet you it is full of gems by now, so think twice before you come in.  All kinds of medicines can be found on my desk, but none is really gonna cure me, said the doctor.  Virual infection can’t be cured with medicined. ><  The doctor even told me that AIDS is also a virual infection.  Gee, thanks!  My boyfriend is probably really happy about the fact that I couldn’t talk in the past few days ’cause no one is gonna bitch at him. XD  I couldn’t work on my photography project.  Actually I don’t feel very bad about it.  In fact, I am considering taking a break from photography.  I have been really under-performed in the area of photography lately, and I need to take some time to rejuvenate and replenish my creativity.

I will talk to you guys again when I feel better.

    Hope you get better soon.

The flu is similar to a cold, except when you have a cold, you might only have sneezing, coughing, and a runny nose, while there are more symptoms when you have a flu–like fever, headache, fatique, etc. A lot of people get the two confused… typically, you are more likely to get the common cold than the common flu.

Further confusing the matter for Chinese people is that the terms for “cold” and “flu” are almost identical. The common cold is called “感冒,” while the common flu is called “流行性感冒”…

Anyway, enough about that boring piece of information. The main thing to know is that while both are viral infections, the flu tends to last a bit longer, typically between one and two weeks. It all depends on how well your body’s immune system fights off the virus, so be sure to get plenty of nutrients and rest.
