Back and stronger
I went into some kind of "creative shut down" ever since I started my field practice position. Now that I have a job, I found myself having the freedom and money to get back on track with photography again. I had a photo shoot on June 17 and it was one of the best photo shoots I’ve ever done.
The photo shoot was put together in a rush because I suddenly had the urge to take photos during the beginning of that week, and I had a hell of a time trying to coordinate studio booking and all the other stuff while I was in a training course for the entire week. I was extremely anxious the night before the shoot because I was so afraid of screwing up. However, things just worked out somehow, and I got some wonderful shots from the shoot.
I found myself approaching my craft in a new and different way, and I imagine that would be a great experince for any artist. It was also a great experience to be able to walk into a shoot knowing that I am going to have a great time. I’ve taken pictures for many people who would like to be in the industry. They have a lot of expectations towards themselves and my team, and it sometimes restrict me or even prevent me from making great photographs because I feel like I have to play according to rules. In this photo shoot, I walked in with a rough idea of what I want to get, but I had no idea how I would get there. I’ve never photograph this person before, and I don’t even know him all that well. It took a while for us to warm up, but we finally got a bunch of great photos towards the end of the photo shoot and both of us were pleased with the results. I’m glad that I took some riskes in this photo shoot; they certainly paid off.
I look forward to spending more time in photography again. Please visit myself for updates as I will upload pictures as often as I could.
XOXO
